Music LONDON: DAY #1

March 05, 2010 | 3:03 PM

“I'm not like John Lennon, who thought he was the great Almighty. I just think I'm John Lennon.” - Noel Gallagher (Oasis)

See Noel's got the right idea which is basically: fuck you I rule.   This is why I really enjoy being in London because the general sentiment among the people here is just that.  From the dude at the Tesco to the gal driving the bus.  The English also seem to be really into puppets, drinking, and pushing.  Seriously the young folk out here love to push and they dance to dubstep like a God whipped its dick out of the stereo and started slapping it around the dance floor.

As for dance floors there was a lot of shit that went down today, lets begin with the list:

#1 RBMA:

RBMA is the Red Bull Music Academy.  Its pretty rad and should I ever own a popular beverage I would throw a event similar but it would have more activities like Pie Eating and Archery.  The Academy goes for like 2 weeks and its lectures, parties, and radio shows.  Its pretty cool, kind of like a cultural/musical tutorial for how to rave and party.

#2 Ed Bangers 7th Anniversary:

Can you believe it?  Those French dudes are 7 years old.  They had a party and it was fun but after Googling them to make a link for this post I noticed that they have SIXTY SIX THOUSAND friends on Facebook.  WTF Mad Decent readers?  More of you downloaded the Gucci mixtape...are we not good enough to be your friends now on Facebook?  That statistic makes me sad and neglected.

#3 The Boxettes:

I met my friend Ollie for a drink at a Brazilian place and there were 5 girls on stage doing a sound check.  Then this 5"5 girl starts dropping vocal bass.  It was so weird we just stared in awe and wonder as one girl beat boxed and the other four sang R & B over it.  It was like En Vogue, Rahzel, and Roni Size's mouth started barfing into a mic but the barf was an awesome rainbow of Miles Davis cool, this group is The Boxettes.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get John Cale to  drink a case of Red Bull with me and reshoot National Lampoons European Vacation with shot for shot on a  for my YouTube movie titled "Mad Lampoon: A Shot-for-Shot recreation of a movie set in Europe taped in England" we will try to get Bat For Lashes to be Mrs.Griswald.

March 07, 2010 | 3:08 PM Posted by: juicecarlson dude, ed banger's fallin off compared to you. no offense to ed banger, but you're in two different categories as far as i'm concerned. they're on some fruity disco mashy rough stuff and you have a global-urban appeal - way smoother too. i mean, when P put out the chop suey and some other really steppy, bassy stuff, i was all about it. but its gotten to be the second coming of disco and you're on some pan-global rhythmic dope-ass shit. its nothing
