Another disadvantage is not really any concern to you; it is a problem for jewelers themselves. While the stone can't come loose accidentally, it is easy to remove if a person deliberately holds the ring open. So many not so honest people remove the diamond, and then come back to a jeweler complaining that the gem is lost. But as we already mentioned this is not your problem as a customer.
