Indonesia! Jakarta probably has the coolest kids in Asia. This is the place where you’re not gonna find any tourists at your shows…but you might find tree man or smoking baby or the new mad cow boy (all from youtube).
It’s Indonesian kids through and through…and they have some of the best Djs and producers outside of EU/US. @mahesautara and @anggerdimas are two dudes making better dutch house sounds than the Dutch. They came out and represented for us, along with the Future10 crew. They put on an amazing festival with like 3,0123,10 stages…from the Jakarta dubstep stage to Indonesias best trance stage…it was poppin. This was my 5th show in Indonesia. I had been here with Soulwax once and Basement Jaxx two years earlier and I remember how excited and up to date the kids here are with music…they are really jamming. I had fallen in love with one word--dilarang--which is Indonesian for FORBIDDEN. It”s written all over airports and military places and I use the word to describe a hot girl or any thing that was scary or weird or cool. DILARANG. It’s a great word. (I also learned when I DJed in Bali that orangutan translates into "jungle man"-- isn't that just the cutest?)

Skerrit was near death here. He hadn't slept at all beside his light naps covered in his old delta blanket. He had very little time between girls, getting it poppin, twitter, filing away pictures of himself and setting up more girls on Facebook. The dude was a machine.. but as soon as we played he wakes up like it’s Weekend at Bernies.

Now off to one of the meccas for clubs in Asia… Singapore…this was probably our second maddest gig. Imagine Singapore Airlines' stewardesses--1500 of them--jumping up and down for 2 hours to dancehall ragga house and whatever else. What this city lacks in general crime and disfunction…it makes up for in ultimate madness and absurdity at the clubs. Tonight was one of the busiest night in a lil while…over 2800 kids jammed in the club..ZOUK, one of the hypest clubs in the world. This was my second time here. The first with @steveaoki, who crazy smashed the party so I had some work to do to reenact our last party here…but we managed somehow. It went wild like an under 18 party. Actually, I think most the kids probably were under 18…but fuck it.

Oh yeah, and I did an interview with a really hot Finnish girl but I was so drunk I don't think I made any sense.

The best thing was the 100 dollar lunch buffet I snuck into the next morning at our hotel. Singapore is soo sterile that I think petty crimes must be pretty rare, it was too easy to pull off. I had the next afternoon off so I went to Sentosa (the crazy mashed up party place at the fake beach for extreme sports and Segway tours and dolphin shows.) I went to conquer the standing wave pool, but only managed to fall off my surfboard about 20 times while 7 year old girls around me did backflips. I’m excited because we get to go back to Singapore in September for the F1 races…watch out!!! Now, off to Kuala Lumpur!

this wave gave me a concussion
Kuala Lumpur is the Malaysian capital. It’s a beautiful city…probably the prettiest we visited…and our hotel was settled between the Petronas towers and this historic graveyard with a jungle surrounding it. The city seems to be very modern, like Singapore, and shares a lot of characteristics...like the club ZOUK which has an outpost here as well. We had a few hours to sleep in the hotel and then its off the Zouk to play. This is the one show where we didn't have a stage and I don't know if the kids knew the Lazer stuff or Diplo stuff but we did an hour of each and we had to grind! The club was packed but it seemed a lot harder since we had a proper DJ booth here...it makes all the difference I realized on this show. The local crew BLINK was into the set. I don't think they had eclectic music like this drop in Kuala Lumpur before so it got the kids hyped. In fact, Blink is also part of a local crew of producers and was good enough to let us put up this track..
It’s a strange world where I’m getting demos in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta that I’m playin back in the US…but I guess its not such a bad thing…go internet! After the show we had a mad rush across the street with our formidable Indian bodyguards. We went to sleep and I dreamt about Malaysian food in the morning. I stole a plate from the breakfast bar and Blink took us to an old crazy area in the suburbs of Kuala Lupure that look just like Florida. I was into that. We passed through a lot of town to get to the old hindu cave that looked like a LOST set. This is where monkeys, pigeons, roosters, and Chinese tourists live in peace inside a wet cave. It’s very nice here and I was attacked by monkeys only once and got some good pictures of monkeys looking at me funny.

i will fucking bite your face off if you touch this banana

Next we are off to Taiwan (don't call it China)!
