Que Bajo, Uproot Andy and Geko Jones’ monthly tropical club party has long been the undisputed home for Global Bass music in New York City. Now in its 5th year, Que Bajo will “open up its crates,” with the creation of Que Bajo Records, to share the sound of the party with a global audience. As a preview of the upcoming releases, Uproot Andy is offering up the Worldwide Ting mix; an hour long journey of all original remixes, most of which have never been heard outside of the Que Bajo party or Uproot Andyʼs DJ sets. In the months to come, Que Bajo Records will be making these tracks available for free download on their website, and will follow up with a string of party tested remixes created or curated by the Que Bajo DJs.

No stranger to cutting edge art, Matt Goldman’s 60-foot wide projection setup during Coachella this year was a welcomed addition to his forward thinking portfolio, which includes coveted clients such as Honda, Korn, MTV, and Virgin. Lucky Vice and Ray-Ban mansion partygoers who saunter through the setup itself – an expansive ring of projection screens – are treated to a mosaic of visuals created by Goldman himself, along with original music by Erin Garcia. Bersa Discos #8 – DJ Quality

Fresh off their five year anniversary, the Bersa Discos crew is celebrating with a new batch of heavy dancefloor heat on 12″ Vinyl and a new addition to the California0via-Buenos Aires label’s roster — DJ Quality.

Hailing from Chicago, 25 year old Mexican producer was once firmly rooted in straight rap, but eventually began combining the Latin rhythms of his youth with a more modern club sound. Now, his efforts have culminated in Bersa Discos #8, a six-track outing that finds hum weaving together bits of cumbia, bachata, Southern hip hop, R&B, Baltimore club, and more. Simply put, the results are a potent mix of hard-hitting beats and club-ready latin jams.

Much like the Little Village neighborhood he hails from, DJ Quality straddles two worlds. Although his Latin heritage undoubtedly plays a significant role in his musical vision, Quality’s production sensibilities clearly stem from his years of bumping rap music on the radio and hearing Chicago-bred electronic music in the club. Bersa Discos always reps the intersection of sounds and cultures, making Quality a natural addition to the crew.
