Album Info
UK born and raised producer Sinden (Graeme Sinden) is no stranger to Mad Decent. He threw the first ever Mad Decent Party in London at Fabric in 2006, we host his weekly KISS FM (UK) radio show on our site (on which countless MD artists have guested), and he even played at our Los Angeles Block Party this year. So it was only a matter of time before we put out a release with him.
“G Like Me” sees Sinden team up with a couple other long-time Mad Decent affiliates - rap duo G-Side of Slow Motion Soundz, an integral part of the PRGz family that we produced the Fear & Loathing in Huntsvegas mixtape with in 2009 (if you don’t know that release – check it! it’s one of our favorites). G-Side rappers Yung Clova and ST 2 Lettaz have released a steady stream of material over the last couple years, most often flowing over the hypnotic and adventurous producetions from fellow Hunstville AL natives the Block Beataz. Sinden turns in his own version of that sound here, tailoring dark and lush guitar loops with southern drums and just a touch of UK flavor, and the matchup is seamless. We were able to line up an allstar team of remixers here as well: we get a minimal “Ghost” remix from Hervé that takes the opiate of the original and multiplies it times ten; Brenmar flips it into an uptempo Juke / Bmore killer; Derek Allen takes it drumstep and Melé rounds it out with something completely different.
Originally released on Nov 16, 2011.
