Remember that crazy video featuring a cross eyed Diplo and Dillon Francis, a few whacky kids dancin around, bright colored floating text and a mean looking Maluca bringing her latin swagger to the game? Titled the world’s first moombahton video, “Que Que” quickly made its way from Dillon Francis Westside EP to Dave Nada’s Blow Your Head Moombahton comp, to becoming a web sensation and major club banger, burning dance floors from Tonga to Tonga. The widely popular track has now been passed down to some of the hottest tastemakers of the time who’ve all added their own zest to the bumpin’ 108 BPM anthem. These 4 brand new remixes no doubt take moombahton– the burgeoning and multifaceted genre– to the next level.
Alvaro takes the original into dutch house territory, while up and coming producers Torro Torro give it a dance flair and add some mean drops that are sure to drive crowds into a frenzy. Mad Decent’s own Toy Selectah brings the moombahton track back to its reggaeton roots with a classic dem bow and flirty male comeback. And finally Mahesa Utara and Dipha Barus speed things up and end the EP with an intensifying wave of excitement and a barrage of ripping synths. Each artist adds their own twist to the track yet maintains “Que Que” ‘s character and appeal in the span of 5 tracks.
